step 5: final family scenario

Reflections:

– what did you discover / learn

I discovered that there were many limitations I had to follow to make my family realistic. For instance, I had to keep in mind age differences when figuring out years of birth so that they were all possible.  However I did learn that, while it was difficult, I did enjoy doing it. I also learned that this would be a really great project to work on all semester.

– what were you challenged by

I was challenged by making the families and the future realistic. My family was originally much more optimistic and I realized how unrealistic that would be. I tried to make my family more realistic and I feel it could have gone further. In addition I was challenged by making the personalities for the family members. I felt like it was extremely difficult to create a person without basing them off of someone else.

– what did you question

I continuously questioned how realistic my family was and how possible this future was.

– what did you do really well on this project

– I think I did a really good job framing the world and making a comprehensive time line. I found that I really thought about what would need to happen in order to change the world into what I was proposing and what kinds of conflicts would exist if it did.

– what would you do differently

I would continue to make my world more realistic. In addition, I would try to create one person who was “failing” the system so that you could get a comprehensive view of the world and the people.
